They "eat" processing power from computers, sapping the computers' strength and ultimately rendering them inert. They are highly effective against 1980's desktop computers, but...less effective against Transformers, due to the latter's superior systems. <A name=Fiction></A> <H2><SPAN class=editsection>[<A title="Edit section: Fiction" href="http://tfwiki.net/w2/index.php?title=Deconstructionite&action=edit&section=1">edit</A>]</SPAN> <SPAN class=mw-headline>Fiction</SPAN></H2><A name=Dreamwave_comics_continuity></A> <H3><SPAN class=editsection>[<A title="Edit section: Dreamwave comics continuity" href="http://tfwiki.net/w2/index.php?title=Deconstructionite&action=edit&section=2">edit</A>]</SPAN> <SPAN class=mw-headline>Dreamwave comics continuity</SPAN></H3> When the <A title="President of the United States" href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/President_of_the_United_States">President of the United States</A> plotted against the Transformers, his secret weapon was the newly minted deconstructionites. In theory, the tiny computer chips were to suck out all the power from the Cybertronians, making them easy to capture and study. The military unleashed thousands of the deconstructionites on the Autobots and Decepticons, but they were less than successful. Several Transformers eventually fell off-line, especially the less-developed ones like <A class=mw-redirect title=Ravage href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Ravage">Ravage</A> and <A title="Laserbeak (G1)" href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Laserbeak_(G1)">Laserbeak</A>, but ultimately, the effect was too slow to give the military the edge they expected. In the aftermath, the President learned his top aides had based their brilliant estimates on time trials that tested the deconstructionites on outdated old computers. Apparently, Transformers are a little more advanced than that. <SPAN class=tt1_nowrap style="BORDER-RIGHT: #cccccc 1px solid; PADDING-RIGHT: 5px; BORDER-TOP: #cccccc 0px solid; PADDING-LEFT: 5px; FONT-SIZE: 10px; PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: #cccccc 1px solid; PADDING-TOP: 0px; BORDER-BOTTOM: #cccccc 0px solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ececec"><A title="Fusion (novel)"
