- Sgt. Savage is a <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/G.I._Joe" title="G.I. Joe">G.I. Joe</a> from the <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Generation_1" class="mw-redirect" title="Generation 1">Generation 1</a> <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Continuity_family" title="Continuity family">continuity family</a>.
[[Image:|right|250px|thumb|He hates Nazis and Europeans in general.]] Sergeant Robert Steven Savage, AKA Sgt. Savage, was a highly decorated U.S. Army soldier during World War II. On a fateful mission to destroy a secret enemy research bunker, his squad was betrayed by one of its own men - who was really the evil Iron Army mastermind <a href="http://tfwiki.net/w2/index.php?title=General_Blitz&action=edit" class="new" title="General Blitz">General Blitz</a>! Captured, Savage was used as a guinea pig for a super soldier process, and ended up cryogenically frozen for decades. Unthawed in the modern era, he joined the team of heroes called <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/G.I._Joe" title="G.I. Joe">G.I. Joe</a>.
While he is courageous in battle, Sgt. Savage fears one thing and one thing only: <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Captain_America" title="Captain America">Captain America</a>'s lawyers.

- Appropriately, Savage's Art of War appearance uses his G.I. Joe Extreme character design rather than the design from his own series.
- Coincidentally enough, Savage was voiced by <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Scott_McNeil" title="Scott McNeil">Scott McNeil</a> in his one-shot direct-to-video featurette and <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Michael_Dobson" title="Michael Dobson">Michael Dobson</a> in G.I. Joe Extreme. Voice crossover is fun!
