Shockwave is a <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Decepticon" title="Decepticon">Decepticon</a> from the <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/TransTech" title="TransTech">TransTech</a> <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Continuity" title="Continuity">continuity</a>.

For SCIENCE!]] Shockwave is a morally ambiguous being who works in the Menacing and Foreboding Sciences Division of the <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Axiom_Nexus" title="Axiom Nexus">Axiom Nexus</a> military. He's backed up by an army of completely silent soldiers. He's a very serious-minded figure who dissects people for the greater good, under the command of <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Megatron_%28TransTech%29" title="Megatron (TransTech)">Megatron</a>.

Megatron first enlisted Shockwave as a prisoner of war, after the defeat of Shockwave's former master, <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Jhiaxus_%28TransTech%29" title="Jhiaxus (TransTech)">Jhiaxus</a>, in the aftermath of the "<a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Liege_Maximo" title="Liege Maximo">Liege Maximo</a> incident." During these early years, Shockwave singlehandedly forged Cybertronian technological advances, but darkly. It was for these war crimes that Shockwave was almost executed, if Megatron had not interceded. Though decidedly amoral, Shockwave and his talents could be extremely useful if directed properly. <sup id="cite_ref-0" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-0" title="">[1]</a></sup>

He never wants to speak of his traumautic encounter with the <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers_Animated" class="mw-redirect" title="Transformers Animated">Transformers Animated</a> cast again.

But Alpha Trion, his acolytes, and the two other targets-of-interest had other ideas. When <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Optimus_Prime_%28Animated%29" title="Optimus Prime (Animated)">Optimus Prime</a>, <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Bumblebee_%28Animated%29" title="Bumblebee (Animated)">Bumblebee</a>, and <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Sari_Sumdac" title="Sari Sumdac">Sari Sumdac</a> arrived in his dimension, he arrested Optimus and Sari for being a <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Prime_%28disambiguation%29" title="Prime (disambiguation)">Prime</a> and having a MacGuffin, respectively, which are forbidden in Axiom Nexus. He apprehended the key for a while until Bumblebee, <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Flareup" title="Flareup">Flareup</a>, and <a href="http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Megatron_%28BW%29" title="Megatron (BW)">"Joe"</a> came to the rescue. However, "Joe" was actually Megatron, who was planning to steal the key and use it for his own twisted purposes.
