Trivia
- Vortex was not named in the original comic release; his name is given in the story commentary in the trade-paperback edition of "The Reign of Starscream", where writer Chris Mowry explains that the character was called such in the script.
- Due to the entirety of his role in the story being pointing at a hidden Autobot, Vortex was nicknamed "Snitchotron".
- Vortex was one of the working names for the movie character Blackout.
