Mega-Octane is a Decepticon in the Robots in Disguise continuity.
"What's your problem, Ed?"

Mega-Octane is the cool-headed commander of the Commandos. He orders his troops into battle with militaristic stoicism, as if they were his own limbs, but actually spends more of his time keeping the hot-headed Scourge in check. Scourge claims to be leader of the small Decepticon faction, but in reality it is Mega-Octane who holds the group together. But all great bots have their personal quirks -- he is not satisfied unless he takes his bath before everyone else.

He merges with the other Commandos to form Ruination, who he completely controls.

Mega-Octane is one of the many Decepticons under the command of Unicron in the Universe conflict, though at this time it is unknown if it is the "original" Mega-Octane or an alternate-universe incarnation.

Robots in Disguise

  • Dolrailer
Japanese ID number: D-010
A redeco of the Generation 1 Combaticon Onslaught, Mega-Octane transforms into a large military truck with twin cannons mounted on its extended flatbed. He also forms the torso of the Commando's super robot Ruination, but since he uses the "Scramble City" style of combination, he can use any combination of limb-robots of that type.
He was available both as an individual and in a five-piece Valdigus multi-pack with his teammates.
This mold was also used to make Great Cannon.
  • Mega-Octane (Deluxe, 2001)
For the Hasbro release of the character, Mega-Octane recieved a significant redeco, replacing the yellow-tan of both his robot mode and combiner kibble with a blue-gray tone. The "Anti-Cybertron" sigils were also replaced with the Decepticon sigil.
  • Ruination (Ultra, 2002)
Available only in a complete combiner set with his fellow Commandos, Mega-Octane receieved an "urban camo" deco of varying shades of gray and black. This set was exclusive to Wal*Mart stores.

Universe

  • Ruination (Ultra, 2004)
Another Wal*Mart exclusive multi-pack, this time around the Commandos recieved a desert camo deco in shades of tan, sand and orange. The combiner parts are virtually identical in color to the original Takara incranation of the mold.
