Fiction

Dreamwave comics

While exploring the Forbidden Zones, Megatron discovered the entombed ruins of an ancient civilization. And in the hands of giant statues of the ancient Transformers Dai Atlas and Deathsaurus he found the Golden Disk, which proved the Council of Ancients dogma was a lie.

The council sent assassins after Megatron to silence his discovery, but he killed them back (preemptively.) The Route of All Evil

Trivia

  • When the Council's assassins attacked Megatron, we saw that the Golden Disk actually a smaller disk inside a two-part casing. Unlike the Voyager Spacecraft's Golden Disk whose casing opened like a film canister, this one split down the middle.
  • Megatron discovered this Golden Disk more than 9 million years ago, per the Dreamwave timeline.
