Elita-1 became the techno-organic Blackarachnia after an accident in which she tried to use her ability-absorbing power on an organic species of alien spider. Along Came a Spider She finds this state of being repulsive and is obsessed with finding a cure to restore her to an entirely robotic state.

Blackarachnia later attempted to repeat the process, as she believed reversing the process on another techno-organic would allow her to restore her previous form. However, her experiments met with many failures, due to the lack of a Cybertronian test subject. After his capture, Wasp was later transformed into the techno-organic Waspinator.Predacons Rising
