Apparently, he's supposed to be the seldom-heeded voice of reason among the two. Poor, poor guy.

Toys

Armada

  • Hot Shot w/ Jolt
Jolt transforms into a red helicopter of an unknown model. He plugs into Hot Shot's butt (ewww) to activate his head cannon gimmick.
  • Powerlinx Hot Shot w/ Jolt
Jolt's and Hot Shot's color schemes were basically reversed with Jolt now in a yellow redeco.

Universe (2008)

Armada Series

  • Hot Shot with Jolt (2008)

Jolt's entry into the Universe toyline is a newly engineered mold. While the overall look of the toy is basically the same, the transformation and articularion are different. He has extra paint applications on his tail section, as well as some parts now cast in black plastic for contrast and visual appeal, such as his propeller and upper arms. He now has one Powerlinx socket instead of the original two.

Jolt can no longer fold in half while attached to Hot Shot, meaning the propeller is pointed up instead of back. Further, while the elbows can now bend, the extra give from the ball joints has been sacrificed for more integrated shoulders which hold the whole figure together, and the knees have been removed completely. There are also some balance issues from his narrower feet and larger back kibble.

Jolt can attach to Hot Shot's vehicle mode by inserting Jolt's arms/engines into slots in the back of Hot Shot's spoiler. However, the connection does not hold very tight. Jolt can also attach to the Powerlinx peg on the Hot Shot's vehicle mode trunk or robot mode shoulder, but this does not activate any features.
