- Varta is an alien, really! He's from the Generation 1 continuity family!
Varta is an alien, but he's not covered in slime! He likes to talk, preferably in rhyme. He has the ability to change his shape, handy for getting out of a rough scrape. When it comes to friends, he made a good pick, and spread to Wheelie his annoying amusing speech tic!

When on a strange planet the fellow crash-landed, a beating by two bullies he was soundly handed. Fortunately for him, a new friend was nearby, a well-fired rock freed the little guy. When the two met again, oddly Varta spoke, but with a translator chip, taught rhyming to the bloke.
He and Wheelie soon fixed up his craft, but the Decepticons came back, they're such pains in the aft. Captured again, Wheelie canceled the trip, as in exchange for Varta, the thugs wanted the ship.
Quick-thinking Wheelie made the craft go ka-boom, and though stranded again, the friends had enough room. Spotlight: Wheelie
