Washington, D.C. is the capital city of the United States of America, one of the most powerful nations on Earth, and the nation where the Ark lay in most Generation 1 continuities.

As a center of political power, it featured in many Transformers stories.

And this is what happens to you when you feature in many Transformers stories.

The Dinobots once defended it from the Decepticons and the Sub-Atlanticans, without destroying too much of the city in the process. Atlantis, Arise!

Generation 1 Marvel Comic

Optimus Prime met with the President there, but Soundwave "overheard" the planning. Megatron then used the Insecticons to attack the city, framing the Autobots as the ones behind the attack. 2007 Movie Titan Magazines

Washington was devastated in the Decepticon conquest of the USA. After the Autobots liberated the nation, it became the centre of power again and Theodore Allen was sworn in as President Aftermath Part 1 Aftermath Part 2. The White House, however, was still undergoing repairs months later.

Brainwashed into being a Decepticon spy, Allen had Mikaela Banes come to Washington so she too could be brainwashed. Return to Cybertron: Part 2

Allen used Bollings Air Base to fire a nuclear warhead at the Autobots, seemingly killing them. Revolution Part Two
