The Transformers: The Premiere Collection is series of comic collections published by IDW Publishing and set in the main IDW continuity. It is also sometimes called The Premiere Edition.

Volume 1

ISBN 1600101186 / ISBN 978-1600101182

Released December 12, 2007, the oversize hardcover collects all the issues of Infiltration, Stormbringer and Escalation, which together cover issues #0–16 in the IDW overarching "sub-numbering". The collection also includes the contents of the first Spotlight collection (Shockwave, Nightbeat, Hot Rod, Sixshot and Ultra Magnus).

Creative team

Volume 1 was scripted by Transformer veteran Simon Furman and primarily penciled by E. J. Su (Infiltration, Escalation), with the four Stormbringer issues penciled by Don Figueroa (Stormbringer) and a variety of artists drawing the Spotlight issues.

Volume 2

ISBN 1600104371 / ISBN 978-1600104374

Volume 2 picks up with Devastation and its followup, the Revelation Spotlights. Devastation is issues #17–22 in the IDW overarching "sub-numbering", and Revelation would have been #23–26 had not the numbering been canceled. The collection also includes the contents of volumes 2 and 3 of the Spotlight collection (Soundwave, Kup, Galvatron, Optimus Prime, Ramjet, Blaster, Arcee, Mirage, Grimlock and Wheelie). Volume 2 is scheduled to be released June 17, 2009.

Creative team

Volume 2 was again mostly scripted by Transformer veteran Simon Furman and primarily penciled by E. J. Su. (The Spotlights for Kup, Ramjet and Mirage were written by Nick Roche, Stuart Moore and George Strayton respectively, while Wheelie's was co-written by Klaus Scherwinski). E. J. Su returned again for most of Devastation (helped out by Nick Roche and Robby Musso), and 2 issues of Revelation (with an issue by Roche and an issue by Dan Khanna with Frank Milkovich and Robert Atkins), and again, a variety of artists drew the Spotlight issues.
