"OMG, TO THE WIKI!"

Not everything you just read or saw needs to be immediately added to the wiki. Information about upcoming toys or media may be rooted in rumors and leaks based on incomplete/outdated information; we don't cover leaks, and we’d rather be a little behind than inaccurate (see our relevant Policy Page for more info). A supposed toy defect may be an isolated incident. A claim of inaccuracy on an article may be a misunderstanding. Exercise your best judgment before making additions, and ask first on the article talk pages or our Discord if you’re not sure.

RoTF Rampage

I just reverted your changes and deleted your image for several reasons:

  1. We haven't seen that image posted at any official sources. TFG2.com is a Chinese web site that, as far as we can tell, is totally unofficial, so the artwork is illegally leaked, not intended for public viewing.
  2. Even if the art was legally usable here, you didn't include any copyright information for the image on its own page. Including that info is standard procedure here. Compare to any number of other images on the wiki and you'll see what I mean. Of course, the image hasn't been officially released to the public, so proper copyright info won't be available.
  3. Even if it was available, we try not to use art from other sites—especially watermarked art—unless there is some sort of special arrangement between us and them. Any official version usable here wouldn't have that watermark.
  4. Even if the image was legal to use, not watermarked and properly credited, your layout looked awful. It was far too large (we try for 100K maximum) and poorly placed. It was also poorly named. If I mentioned an image called "Concept Art.jpg", would you know what it showed just from that name? If the image ever becomes legitimately usable here, it should be given a name such as "RoTF Rampage Concept Art.jpg".
  5. On top of all that, you took five tries to add one image to a page. If you're going to edit, please use the "Show preview" button to be sure your changes look good before saving them.

Sorry if this all seems like piling a lot on you at once, but, well, you broke a lot of rules all at once. Please take your time to familiarize yourself with how we do things, and then feel free to participate within the rules.--Apcog 13:08, 19 June 2009 (EDT)
