Fiction

Revenge of the Fallen movie

Millions of years ago, the Dynasty of Primes and the Transformers arrived on Earth as part of their attempts at harvesting the systems sun for energon. However, they learnt it was already inhabited by a small race of primitive tribal hunters and thus decided not to continue with the task. Despite their decision, one of their number later known as The Fallen rebelled against his brothers and sought to activate the device and steal the systems sun. This led to a terrible conflict where Transformer fought Transformer and the Fallen fought against the Primes. Before the Fallen could use the Matrix to activate the device, he was defeated by his brothers who took the Matrix key away from.

With his plans ended, the Dynasty of Primes decided to hide the Matrix from their evil brother in order to prevent him from accomplishing his goals. Travelling to a part in the mountains, they sacrificed their lives to contain the Matrix which was now in a tomb made of their own bodies. In time, a temple was made by the primitive human race over the tomb thus obscuring it from both Transformers and the human species. This led to both races forgetting that they had met each other before. In the early part of human history, Jetfire was dispatched to Earth by the Fallen in order to locate the Tomb of the Primes and thus the Matrix but he eventually defected to the Autobots cause.

After the destruction of the All Spark, a fragment of it was left in the hands of Sam Witwicky which led to him seeing Cyberglyphics in his mind which were actually Cybertronian coordinates for the Tomb of the Primes. Whilst at first dismayed after finding nothing but an old Egyptian temple, the accidental destruction of the wall by the Twins Mudflap and Skids led to the discovery of the Tomb where Sam found the Matrix which he sought to use to bring Optimus Prime back to life.
