No, YOU'RE awesome!

Leonardo Ponce de Léon "Leo" Spitz is a little nutty. From the relative safety of his dorm room in Hamilton Hall, he runs a website, The Real Effing Deal, from which he tells the world about the giant robots that the government doesn't want you to know about. He may be oblivious to a lot of things, including pretty girls in his room, but he's got to be ever vigilant if he wants to get the jump on his competition over at GiantEffingRobots.com and his eternal nemesis Robo-Warrior.

Leo posted three video blogs on his site. The first of which, was a video for all the 'newbies', explaining that he was tired of lies and cover-ups and was out to expose the truth, as well as personally shouting out to new users thanking for their contributions and saying they have some new 'merch' coming soon. The second, was an angry shout-out to Robo-Warrior, telling him to back-off of his site and stories and that being from New York and not living in Kansas anymore, he would have to 'cut him' if he had to, or get something else to cut him, which he apparently didn't want to do. On a positive side, the site was doing well and they had plenty of new 'merch' to 'represent'. The last was a video saying that 'project invade the campus' was in effect and that despite relocating they would continue to operate the site.

Leo's last tweet on his twitter page was on June 24, 2009 at 9:02AM and consisted of the cryptic message, "DUDE! WTF IS THAT!!!"The Real Effing Deal

The world may never learn what that message was referring to.

Revenge of the Fallen film

Actor: Ramon Rodriguez (English), Shūhei Sakaguchi (Japanese-language dub voice)

Sam met Leo when moving into his dorm room, and was quickly introduced to his roommate's... eccentricities. Leo hastily escorted Sam into a makeshift situation room, where his buddies Fassbinder and Sharsky were hard at work chronicling the breaking story in Shanghai. Leo was crestfallen when he failed to impress his new roomie with his media empire, nor even the kitten calendars, but he ultimately shrugged it off and showed Sam the woman he intended to one day marry, Alice. Later that night he dragged Sam to the first fraternity party of the year, where he believed he was certain to get his "Spitzy Spitz" on.

Days later he had concocted a subtle and nuanced plan to woo Alice by presenting her with a meat-laden pizza. Unfortunately she brushed him off, and was ultimately more interested in Leo's roommate's scribbles. She didn't even grant Leo's humble request to watch! Women. Of course, shortly afterwards he discovered it was all an alien plot to silence his website's truth-finding mission. Realizing he had led his newfound friends into danger, he fled only to be captured by Grindor and taken to Megatron.

Curiously, the Decepticon leader seemed uninterested in Leo, apparently playing coy with the intrepid web journalist while he waxed loquacious about dissecting Sam. Thankfully the Autobots arrived, and understanding the crucial asset Leo represented assigned Bumblebee to safely evacuate him.

Now a fugitive alongside his friends, Leo began to waver at the weight of what was going on, leading the Autobots Skids and Mudflap to consider killing him to not having to worry about him. Once he realized the magnitude of the threat facing Earth, Leo's savvy again proved the key to unraveling the mystery as he used his inside contacts to lead Sam to former government agent Seymour Simmons. Though he and Simmons had crossed swords more than once on the internet, Leo was magnanimous, extending the olive branch to his rival. Thus, Simmons allowed Leo to play a central role in their crafty plan to infiltrate the Smithsonian Institute National Air and Space Museum. Successfully beguiling the guards, Leo took out several of them before his ninja-like moves proved a little too smooth, and he applied his taser to himself... in the gonads.

Leo recovered quickly, and was whisked away with the others to Egypt when the ancient Decepticon turncoat Jetfire opened a space bridge. Though he employed the catlike grace he was known for, his pride and joy was ultimately dealt another blow when Sam's girlfriend unceremoniously landed on it. When Sam thought that the long lost Matrix of Leadership might be able to restore the slain Optimus Prime to life, Leo accompanied his new friends on their quest. Leo showed his uncanny powers of reasoning and skepticism as the group approached the Tomb of the Primes, and openly questioned if "Grandpa Blackbird" might be ill-informed, but his insightful observations lead Sam to discover the wonders hiding under his very nose.

As they returned to Egypt, the monstrous Decepticon Starscream began dropping missiles on their position. At this point, Leo's steely resolve began to waver, only reinforced with a slight tasering by Simmons. His steely resolve was likewise proven as he showed himself an able ally to Simmons in the decisive final battle, saving the latter's life when he was nearly sucked into the maw of Devastator. Resting only when the job was done, Leo stood as a true hero for our times. Revenge of the Fallen

Trivia

  • Judging by most of the articles on his site, he seems to think Olivia Munn is the hottest woman on the planet. In fact it seems as if the site is just as much about her as it is about finding the truth about alien robots. Boys will be boys....
