Axe (weapon)

Transformers sometimes use axes for melee weapons.

Optimus Prime wielded an Energon-axe during a fight against Megatron on a kind of important dam. Although the original toy did not include this accessory, it became closely associated with the character - to the extent that Optimus Prime (Animated) uses a rocket-powered axe as a signature weapon and for transport.

While Optimus is the most iconic axe-user, other Transformers have used similar weapons on occasion. Strongarm generates an axe as an energon weapon, Metroplex has his colossal axe Sparkdrinker, the Ratchet toy has a fold-out axe in one forearm (although no fiction to date has depicted him using it), Jetfire's landing-gear cane converts to an axe, and Crosshairs has an axe as well.

They aren't nearly as popular as swords.
