Transmutate (BW)
Transmutate was a female mutant Transformer from the Beast Wars Saga. By appearances, she seemed to be a Transmetal, but that is open to debate.
The Stasis Pod containing Transmutate was heavilly damaged by the Transwarp Wave released by the destruction of the Planet Buster, as a result, the Protoform contained within was revealed to be a complete (though functional) wreck.
The creature (which was later named Transmutate) possessed very little intelligence as well as inconceivable destructive power. Though she had no alternate form, she did have the ability to fly.
Both factions considered Transmutate to be too dangerous to recruit, and decided to do away with her. This caused considerable concern for both Silverbolt and Rampage. Silverbolt felt it was a Maximal's duty to protect all sentient life, and Rampage simply found a kindred spirit in Transmutate's tortured existence.
Transmutate managed to befriend both Transformers, which caused some friction between them. Eventually, they came to blows. Transmutate sacrificed herself in order to save the two Transformers from killing each other. She has not appeared in any continuity since.
Interestingly, for the 10th Anniversary Reprints for the Beast Wars line, each figure was packaged with a piece of a Transmutate figure.
