The Protectobots used a mode lock on the captured "renegade" Blaster to safely transport him back to the Ark. An unexpected encounter with the Combaticons allowed Blaster the chance to convince some humans to remove it and save their lives. After his heroism convinced Hot Spot to let him go free, the mode lock was used to restrain Blast Off to take the humans on a joyride in space.Child's Play
