Bali is an island in the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Millions of years ago, a Decepticon escape module ejected from the Decepticon cruiser crashed into an expanse which would come to be known as Demon Swamp. The three passengers were reformatted by the pod's computer into the Insecticons, and legends of strange monsters grew up around the location.

In the 1980s, the Insecticons' activities drew the attention of the Decepticons and Autobots, leading to a pitched battle between the factions in a corn field. Optimus Prime's group arrived late, having been held up by a local religious festival and having to batter their way through a mountain, and the Decepticons and Insecticons headed for an oil refinery. The Autobots pursued them to the refinery and resumed combat. In the end, the Decepticons were driven off. Pity about the refinery. A Plague of Insecticons
