During a team vs team match, Betabear failed to act on Clench's order to get in circle formation and was killed off by one of the other team. Megatron Origin issue 2

Notes

• From what little can be seen from Betabear, his appearance is a match with the guy standing with Clench, Crasher and Skyquake earlier in the story. However, a gladiator of that same appearance also was present just a panel earlier on the other side of the circle formation, which makes it unlikely he is Betabear as well. Furthermore, what roughly looks like the same model shows up three more times in the background throughout the comic after Betabear's death, so it's unclear whether Betabear is the guy as seen on the right or not.
