Galata Valley is a location in the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Located in Turkey, near the Alibey River, Galata Valley is an unspoiled tract of nature. Unspoiled, at least, until the Decepticons get their hands on it.

Fiction

Generation 1 cartoon

In the 14th century, the Pearl of Bahoudin — the power core of a Cybertronian weather control device — was encased in a golden shell and buried in Galata Valley, to prevent it from causing havoc with the world's weather. There it remained until 1985, when Megatron was lead to the valley. The Decepticon leader enlisted the aide of Professor Teranova in narrowing down the Pearl's location.

By the time the Constructicons had dug the Pearl up, a group of Autobots had been lead to the valley by the Stunticons' theft of Auggie Cahnay's car. During the resulting battle, Bumblebee broke open the Pearl's protective case, unleashing a violent storm on Galata Valley. Bumblebee allowed himself to get sucked into the tornado and was able to destroy the Pearl, restoring pleasant weather to the valley. Trans-Europe Express

Notes

  • Galata is actually the name of a neighborhood in Istanbul.
