He can operate main battle tanks. He can do your taxes. Either way, Heavy Metal has the means to put the hurtin' on you. Born and raised in a poorer part of Brooklyn, Heavy Metal made it out by enlisting in the Army, where he served in finance until the day he saw an armor column roll past and opted for a transfer. He now serves as the main driver of the Mauler main battle tank.

Trivia
- As with many G.I. Joe characters, his background was entirely rewritten for his release as part of Action Force; his name went from "Sherman" to "Steve" and he was remade to be English.
