- Afterburner is an evil Autobot Technobot from the "Shattered Glass" continuity family.
The mathematical genius Afterburner is always cheerful and willing to please everyone around him. In fact, he's a little too willing to please everyone around him, as he tends to mistake other people's desires and judgments and his own as being the exact same thing, even when other people's wants actually wouldn't be in his best interest.
The other Autobots get tired of his unending groveling, but realize there's something to be said for a mech who'll always support your position or go along with your plans, no matter how crazy they are.
He thinks combining with the other Technobots to form Computron is a completely super-awesome idea.
Fiction
Shattered Glass
Afterburner and his Technobot teammates had followed Alpha Trion before the Old One was banished to another dimension. When Alpha Trion returned from his exile to his laboratory, the Technobots were among the ones who came to rejoin his service and help detain Breakaway, Landquake, and Topspin. Reunification: Part 1
The three were able to escape, however, and eventually Computron (including Afterburner) was sent out to find and deal with them. The three's most recent visitor Aquarius was able to delay Computron's arrival with a "slow time" bubble, but eventually the bubble faded and Computron tore the roof off the building the three had been hiding in. Reunification: Part 3 Computron then chased after the gestalt members and Aquarius as they made a run for it, until Abominus showed up to deal with Computron. Reunification: Part 4

- Afterburner's appearance is based on the original Generation 1 Technobot Afterburner, only colored like the Terrorcon Sinnertwin.
