Protihex was the site of an Autobot command post that Megatron ordered taken out by Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker -- mainly to keep Starscream out of his hair.

Before the attack, Starscream found Grimlock in Kaon and, to the shock of his comrades, invited the former gladiator to join their destructive mission by giving him the exact location they intended to hit. When the three Seekers reached their target in Protihex, they found the base cleared of Autobots and useful data. Their presence tripped a message from Grimlock on the monitors, which told them of his decision to stay with the Autobots. Grimlock had one more surprise for Starscream -- the base exploded seconds later with the three Decepticons inside. The War Within Preview

The trio managed to survive the blast thanks to Skywarp's warping ability. Starscream blamed Megatron for their failure, while his comrades blamed Starscream's boneheaded decision to tell their enemy of their plans. They abandoned him to his brooding. The War Within issue 3

During the Dark Ages, Shockwave found the Chaos Trinity of Bludgeon, Bugly and Mindwipe in Protihex and declared them under arrest for crimes against the planet. The three didn't go quietly. Conflagration
