Talk:Bumper (G1)
I re-read DW v3 #7-8 recently, and I still have the feeling that I had when I first read them, that something isn't quite right about Bumper's escape and saving the day. Bombshell's quite clearly doing something to his head while talking to Shockwave, the heroism seems quite out of character, and the panel with the two EDC soldiers reflected in Bumper's eyes seems really rather creepy - and also leads nowhere, which suggests it might be a set-up for future events that were never shown. The really jarring thing, though, is the car registration plate in the last panel, which reads 'TR8R1' - 'Traitor One'. Is the denouement a scam, and is Bumper actually under Bombshell's control? I wouldn't make so much of the other oddities were it not for the number plate, which surely can only be interpreted as a hint that there's a traitor in the Autobot ranks. I haven't added anything to the profile because I don't know whether this is a widely-held opinion - what do people think? --Tribimat 00:49, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
I agree with your assessment, and think it should be mentioned on his page, probably as a parenthetical "probably this meant this but DW died" thing. --ItsWalky 01:03, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
Hey, I notice that this page mentions that no Bumblejumper in Bumblebee packaging as ever surfaced, that only confirmed MOC Bumblejumpers were all on Cliffjumper cards. I just want to say that I distinctly remember a MOC Bumblejumper on Bumblebee card being auctioned off on ebay around 1999 or thereabouts. The bidding ended at over $700, which I thought was outrageous at the time. Rose.T 21:16, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- "At the time"? Please tell me you don't think that's reasonable now. --M Sipher 21:31, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Of course it's still an outrageous price. My point remains, however, that the thing most assuredly exists.Rose.T 21:56, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
So, technically, isn't the toy a canonical variant of Cliffjumper (it was called "Cliffjumper" on his card), and only repurposed into Bumper? - Starfield 20:22, 26 April 2009 (EDT)
- Should this toy be listed on Cliffjumper's page as well? It was sold as Cliffjumper. Khajidha 18:43, 12 February 2010 (EST)
Go! Box
This article seems to have two of them. Item42 14:40, 12 February 2010 (EST)
- Having checked the list of go box images [[1]], this is correct. - Cattleprod 14:48, 12 February 2010 (EST)
- It really shouldn't. I'd suggest changing the one that comes from a comic panel to point to the article for whatever issue it's from. --KilMichaelMcC 15:25, 12 February 2010 (EST)
- Why can't it have two Go boxes? --abates 15:42, 12 February 2010 (EST)
- Equality and tidiness, perhaps? I can imagine it'll be an organizational mess if multiple boxes get allowed, and I wouldn't be comfortable about how that would eventually cause article "favouritism". Geewunling 16:16, 12 February 2010 (EST)
- I guess I just think of it as a "We have these two totally awesome go-boxes which will make people want to click on them and we can't decide which one to use, so use both!" thing. I don't think it's likely to happen very often. --abates 16:36, 12 February 2010 (EST)
- So... should something be done about that double Go! Box thing? Or is it gonna be left as it is?Item42 11:22, 13 February 2010 (EST)
