Proposal for Standardization of Comic Cover Image names
As I look through the images displayed on the Category:Comic covers link (example added below), it seems to me that we should start standardizing comic cover image names. I propose a formula like this: "publisher00.jpg"
For example: for US Marvel issues, the name of the image of issue 1 would be: "MarvelUS01.jpg" For the UK issues, since there are over 100 issues, I'd suggest "MarvelUK001.jpg" but figure two digits is enough for any other publisher, as I really doubt that any other publisher will ever reach 100 issues. (No offense, IDW!)
For the main G1 DW comics, the formula would include volume numbers, as in "DWv1-01.jpg" "DWv2-01.jpg" and so on....
For mini-series or other oddballs, a different system would be needed, of course, (say, "Micromasters1.jpg") but I'm thinking that whatever is selected should remain the same for that particular series.
This way, when someone selects the category link, all related series covers will show up together, in order.
One major problem, I cannot delete or rename images. Can an admin do that? Is there an interest in such? --G.B. Blackrock 03:49, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
I think this scheme sounds like a good idea. --Steve-o 04:05, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
- One change. Apparently Wiki doesn't like the "#" symbol. I've changed the references above to reflect this.--G.B. Blackrock 04:18, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
