Kids' WB
Created to fill Saturday morning and weekday afternoon airtime on the fledgling The WB television network, Kids' WB combined its existing hit shows (such as Animaniacs) with new shows produced both in-house and by other companies. The merger of parent companies Time Warner Inc. and the Turner Broadcasting System in 1996, resulted in Kids' WB and Cartoon Network sharing various programming. This alliance would last until Kids' WB was shifted from The WB to The CW.
Transformers: Cybertron
Transformers: Cybertron was one of the many shared programs and one of the last to air on the Kids' WB afternoon programming block. Dubbed the Kids' WB AfterToons Show, the block would first air Transformers: Cybertron on September 19, 2005. In addition to being Cybertron's broadcast debut, it was also the first time that the series' first episode, "Fallen", had aired in the U.S. The second episode of Cybertron, "Haven", would see its U.S. debut the next day. The show was shifted back to Cartoon Network after the AfterToons Show block was discontinued on December 30, 2005.
Post CW merger
Kids' WB's remaining Saturday morning block aired in an expanded format on the new The CW television network from the network's inception until May 18, 2008. The Saturday morning airtime would be turned over to 4Kids Entertainment, with The CW's parent companies citing cable competition and advertising limits as the reasons for shutting down Kids' WB.
A few weeks prior to its last terrestrial broadcast, Kids' WB was relaunched as an online network on April 28, 2008. In 2009, it was added as an on-demand channel for Comcast cable subscribers.
