Orbital Torus States are portions of Cybertron's surface from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Unlike most planets, Cybertron does not have a globally even surface. Across the planet, small areas of even ground are separated from each other by sea, crevice or another large type of depression, giving the planet a patchwork appearance.

The individual 'patches' are termed Orbital Torus States, as a result of the patches' exploited potential to host separate states. The term appears to have certain overlap with the definition of city-state.
