Talk:Dinotron (BM)
Once again, I object to having a "Beast Machines" section under "Fiction". The only Beast Machines fiction is the cartoon (okay, there's the short story in Legends), and it has no Dinobots. Cardback no county. --M Sipher 03:30, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
I strongly disagree. Cardbacks should definately count. It is 100% official fiction attached to the toys and characters and in many cases is unique fiction and backstory unreplicated elsewhere. ZacWilliam 03:41, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
- I think the cardback stuff if going to be there it should either be moved up top above the Fiction section, or at least be given its own sub-section that makes it clear the events being described are not from the cartoon. --KilMichaelMcC 04:11, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
- The cardback BACKSTORY is good for, say, the BM Dinobots' group page (which they should get at some point). But as a part of the individual character pages, frankly, I think it has no place (among other reasons, it contains pretty much no individual character information whatsoever), and certainly not as part of the "fiction" section, which is where the cartoons and comics and storybooks and etc go. Were there a pack-in comic showing the Dinobot backstory, well, then there you go. --M Sipher 05:03, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
BM Dinobots already have a group page, have for a while. Still I maintain the info, which is neither long nor intrusive, definately belongs on the characters pages as well.
It *IS* official backstory for each character, featuring events that happened to them in the past and that anyone researching one of them via the wikki would likely want to know. If someone wanted to use, say Dinotron in particular, for something and looked him up here, they might see the empty or nonexistant BM section and assume there is no BM fiction discribing the character's origins, and they'd be missing fairly important bits of his backstory.
The wikki exists to inform and this is important character info.
As for not including it as Fiction, what's the justification for that? Is it official? Yes. Is it a TF story (albeit a short one)? Yes. That makes it Official Fiction and that's exactly what the Fiction section is for. Why should the location that Official Fiction was presented have any bearing on anything? I can see giving it it's own sub-tag like "cartoon" or "comic" to delinate it's origin but it definately belongs in the catagory.

- For what it's worth, I'd also argue for its inclusion, but not as "Fiction," which I think has a specific meaning in this Wiki's context that precludes information that only appears on toy packaging.--G.B. Blackrock 15:25, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
