Specifics: Toys, comic appearances
Wreckage is a Mini-Con from the Armada portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
Wrecking and ruling is difficult when your hands are bas-reliefs.

Wreckage leads the Land Military Mini-Con Team, possibly the hardiest, most skilled rag-tag band of Mini-misfits their race has produced. And in battle or in the planning stages, he's one of the best. A pragmatic 'bot, Wreckage has never really allowed the Team to permanently side with any group throughout the war, doing jobs for whoever he decides best suits their interests at the time. But he's got principles too, and as the war rages on, he finds he might have to pick a side and stick with it soon.

After the Exodus crashed on Earth, Wreckage lay dormant until being found and reactivated by the Decepticons. Once he was reunited with Bonecrusher and Knock Out, however, the team eventually sent a signal to contact the Mini-Cons recovered by the Autobots. This ultimately led to a confrontation in which the Land Military Team, as well as many of the other Decepticon Mini-Cons, chose to join the Autobot side. Wreckage and the others remained with the Autobots, eventually following them to Cybertron and coming together to fight their evil creator Unicron.

Wreckage and the Land Military Team were captured and altered by the Decepticons to be used as weapons of conquest millions of years ago. They escaped aboard the Exodus with most other Mini-Cons, and declared themselves free agents upon reactivating on Earth a million years later. Following a signal from a Mini-Con panic pager, the Land Militaty Team found Alexis, Carlos and Rad, who asked them for help in saving Jolt, Longarm and Sparkplug from Decepticon captivity. Wreckage and his team refused, but they quickly changed their minds after witnessing Rad's courage. They still chose against joining the Autobots, though. Dreamwave Armada issue 7

Alongside all the other Mini-Cons on Earth, the Land Military Team were later taken against their will to Dualor's moonbase. Dreamwave Armada issue 8 They were not thrilled about this, but Wreckage chose not to take action for the time being. Dreamwave Armada issue 9 He figured that it wasn't so bad--the moonbase was the closest thing to a home they could get, and it was heavily fortified to keep any bulks from capturing them! His attitude caused some conflict among the Mini-Cons, but the arguments ended when the Decepticons suddenly broke through the base's fortifications. Dreamwave Armada issue 10 Wreckage and the others quickly got to the escape pods and fled back to Earth. Dreamwave Armada issue 11

Following this misadventure, the Land Military Team seemingly stayed with the Autobots. Worlds Collide, Part 3 of 4 They were instrumental in separating Star Saber from Megatron's grip after he used it to destroy the invading Galvatron. Worlds Collide, Part 4 of 4

Finally, Wreckage joined with all other active Mini-Cons in returning to Cybertron and activating Over-Run's Mini-Con Matrix, incapacitating Unicron and leading to his destruction. The End

Panini Armada comics

After crashing on Earth in the distant past, Wreckage, Knock Out and Bonecrusher were discovered in 1959 during the construction of a casino in Las Vegas. They were recovered by the US government and subsequently converted into remote-control military equipment by the Extra-Terrestrial Response Division. A few hours after a field test, the three Mini-Cons overrode ERTD's control and drove to the nearby town of Stillwater. With some effort, Wreckage introduced himself to reverend Amos Hume and gave him a code that could be used to locate the Land Military Team. He and his teammates were then recaptured by the ERTD. Blast from the Past!

After the ETRD's funding was cut decades later, former technicians Quint and Hathaway attempted to auction the Mini-Cons off. When the humans decided to show the buyers how safe the robots were by zapping Wreckage, he broke out of their control again and fought back, blowing up a truck in the process. The transaction was interrupted by the arrival of an Autobot shuttle carrying the Air Defense Mini-Con Team and their human friends, whom Hume had contacted upon seeing images of the Transformers on television. Wreckage shook hands with Hume, happily stating that the priest's actions had kept him from losing all hope in humanity. Sale of the Century!

Notes

  • Although Wreckage's missile launchers clearly had actual arms molded onto them, several artists on the Armada comic book drew the launchers themselves as his arms, with the front gaps working as pincer-hands.
