The Initiative is a shadowy organization. They have a military arm with access to effective anti-Cybertronian weaponry. Their purpose and endgame remains a mystery.

The Initiative sent troops to Kingdom Petrochemicals after their monitoring equipment managed to trace five Autobot sparks converging on that location. Upon arrival the troops were involved in a battle between the Autobots and Soundwave's animalistic Decepticons. The Initiative troops then withdrew, unable to capture a Cybertronian to power up their "infant"—the AllSpark cube. Nefarious issue 1
