The cloaked mystery villain is a giant spectral entity, able to form itself from a translucent blob of crimson fire. Just who or what it is... only the Japanese may know.

The cloaked mystery villain appeared hovering in front of the Earth, arms stretched out, no doubt plotting villainy on a global scale. Its allegience or methods unknown, it apparently wasn't friends with the Autobots.
Later, the humongous, dark, red-glowing silouette of Megatron appeared on Earth, but was defeated by a punch of burning justice from Optimus Prime. Animated title sequence (Japan)
Notes
- Just what the Hell is up with this guy? Who is he? He could conceivably be Megatron, given that he shows up later in the title sequence as a gigantic black silouette with red flames spewing all about, but the build and the head of the cloaked mystery villain is entirely different from Megatron's. It's quite possible he may just be a poetic personafication of evil incarnate, too. We may never know.
