Cancer's sensei is a human from the Super-God Masterforce portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

This was actually taken before he died and became a zombie.

Cancer's sensei is a wise old teacher of martial arts who raised Cancer as his own son. He ran the Chōryūken Dojo.

After Cancer was orphaned, he was taken in by the kindly old sensei. The sensei took good care of him, while the other kids tormented him over his orphan status. In return, Cancer trained hard at the dojo, learning from the sensei the powerful "Super Dragon Fist" technique and trying to raise the dojo's profile. When the Decepticons reappeared on Earth, Cancer believed that joining them was the way to power and left the dojo. The sensei was disappointed, believing that Cancer had turned his back on the dojo. He eventually fell ill and died. The students drifted away from the dojo, and it was shut down.

Sometime later, Cancer returned to the dojo, and was told by his fellow student Chang what had happened. Cancer was saddened by what had happened, and said he had never deserted the principles of the dojo. Eventually this contributed to him leaving the Decepticons. God Ginrai - Save Cancer!?
