The name or term "Over-Run" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Over-Run (disambiguation).
Over-Run is a Autobot Action Master from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Apocalypse Now! M*A*S*H! Whirlybirds!

A fiercely individual perfectionist, domineering and arrogant (even downright tyrannical), Over-Run acts like the air war with the Decepticons is his own personal responsibility, and he'll yell angry instructions or abuse at anyone of any rank he sees as getting in the way of his winning it. Needless to say, this makes him pretty unpopular with the other airborne Autobots. If he wasn't a very effective warrior in an arena where they are traditionally outmatched, it's unlikely Over-Run would be anywhere but in the brig by now. He is dedicated to the Autobot cause, though; he just sees beating the Decepticons as far more important than rudeness and the feelings of his inferior comrades. He'll apologize after the war ends. Maybe.

He rules the skies in his Attack Copter.

IDW comics continuity

Over-Run was one of several Autobots under the command of Fortress Maximus on the Garrus-9 penal colony. He and the other soldiers failed to stop a Decepticon attack force from liberating the facility's newest inmates. Spotlight: Arcee

Timelines: Wings of Honor

Some time after the creation of the Elite Guard, Over-Run was inducted into its ranks under the command of Metalhawk. During one of their battles, his squad found themselves facing a horde of Virulent Clones along with Thunderclash's squad. After Ironfist riled up the Clones by trying to blow them sky-high, only to find out they already were sky-high, Metalhawk called to Over-Run to provide them with some aerial support.

Landshark hoped to see the two "upgrades" show off their new flying abilities, but Over-Run instead gave "Sharkie" a demonstration of his personal remotely-controlled helicopter. The helicopter blasted the Clones into bits with a barrage of firepower, then Over-Run landed it and gave it an inspection while the two squads relaxed.

Soon afterwards, his squad was ordered to ferry Thunderclash's squad to Space Port Bravo. Over-Run was nice enough to load Landshark his helicopter for the next mission, but put his foot down on letting him pilot the Hawk's Claw... until Landshark talked him into it anyway.

After bidding their goodbyes at the spaceport, Over-Run wondered out loud where they'd end up next. When Dion commented that he was eager to beat up some Decepticons, Over-Run asked if Dion had ever seen a Decepticon up close before, and was puzzled by Dion stalking off angrily in response.

A jaunt to Elite Guard HQ later, Metalhawk's squad soon found out that their next assignment was somehow going to involve Magnum's newest special ops group. The Coming Storm: Part 2

    • Accessories: Rotary Photon Pulse Laser Cannon, 2 x Side Concussion Cannons (left and right), 2 x Magnetic Missiles, engine cover, rotor
Over-Run is unusual for an Action Master due to his rather monochromatic color scheme, as he is made primarily out of a single shade of red plastic. All of his other colors are paint applications. Over-Run's sculpt suggests that before becoming an Action Master, he once transformed into a Cybertronic helicopter, due to the canopy and rotor shaft details on his torso. Appropriately, his Action Master vehicle is a small attack helicopter, and when not using the helicopter as his ride, Over-Run wields the vehicle's rotary photon pulse laser cannon and engine cover as weapon and shield, respectively.
Over-Run can ride inside the cockpit of the attack helicopter, which can also transform into a small cannon emplacement/base, with the rotors being stored underneath and extra armor flipping forward from the rear fuselage.

Notes

  • Over-Run's Attack Copter-mountable handheld laser gun is, fittingly, a remold of one of Vortex's side-mounted cannons.
  • In his "Wings of Honor" incarnation, Over-Run can transform and seems to be based on Energon Bulkhead's body with a retooled head. However, he also still has his Action Master vehicle.
