Patrick Galen Dempsey (born January 13, 1966) is an American actor, best known for playing Dr. Derek Shepherd (a.k.a. "McDreamy") on Grey's Anatomy. On May 4, 2010, it was officially confirmed that Dempsey has been cast in Transformers 3 as Mikaela Banes' boss.
