Alpha Trion leads his rebels in an attack on Shockwave's lab.

Synopsis

A pair of TransTech guards engage in (one-sided) small talk as they keep watch at the entrance to the Transwarp Complex... only to have it abruptly silenced by Alpha Trion and his followers explosively entering the Complex and turning the guards into little pieces. Trion tells Immorticon, Skyfall, and Landquake to follow him while the rest head towards the dimensional transit room.

Depth Charge spots the incoming trio and sounds an intruder alert, but Trion runs Depth Charge through and slices off his head before the TransTech can fight back. This disturbs Skyfall greatly, but Landquake tells him that he should have expected violence. Trion lectures to Skyfall about what his "evil" sword makes him do, and Landquake tries to silently reassure the troubled Skyfall as they keep moving onward.

In Shockwave's laboratory within the Complex, Megatron asks if Shockwave is ready for their experiment. Shockwave says he still needs more time, but Megatron receives Depth Charge's alert and warns that there's a fight coming soon.

As Trion enters the room, commenting that Breakaway must be inside, he's surprised by a weapons blast from Megatron. The TransTech tells Trion that if they're planning to fight, there should be more battle and less chatter. Trion agrees, leading himself and Immorticon into an attack. He orders Skyfall and Landquake to rescue Breakaway as he duels one-on-one with Megatron.

As the two approach the injured Breakaway, Landquake senses that Breakaway will live, but needs to be taken to safety to be healed. Skyfall puts up his protective force field and tells Landquake to carry their injured friend, so they can escape "this crazy planet"...

Quotes

"Did you hear what Soundwave said the other day? He—"
"No."
A pause.
"Do you want to go get a can of oil after our shift is over?"
"No."
"That's cool. Maybe some other time."
"Probably not."

— Unnamed Scooter and Cy-kill guard Shockwave's lab

"Do you see, Skyfall? Do you see the terrible burden I bear? What the sword makes me do?"

Alpha Trion is kind of not all there

"Prepare yourself for battle, Science Minister."

Megatron adds to Shockwave's job description

Notes

  • Two TransTechs that strongly resemble the Tonka GoBots characters Cy-Kill and Scooter guard Shockwave's lab compound. They're unnamed.
  • Speaking of which, add another Cy-Kill death to the pile. Yay...
  • Immorticon, Scavenger, Blackarachnia, and Depth Charge are based on their unused Transtech designs, of course.
  • Artist Evan Gauntt depicts Skyfall's force field as a series of interlocking hexagons, rather than the solid sphere that Dan Khanna drew.
  • The fan reaction to Cy-Kill and Scooter's deaths resulted in Pete Sinclair stating that this would be the last GoBot death scene in Fan Club works.[1]
