The Energon Bridge is a energy production center located on the planet Cybertron that manufactured the highly dangerous as well as unstable Dark Energon.

War for Cybertron
In the distant past, the Energon Bridge was located in the depths of Cybertron itself where it beamed its powerful contents to an orbital space station. However, the discovery on the true destructive potential of Dark Energon meant that the Bridge was shut down and all samples of the substance were contained in the space station where it was overseen by the former Sky Commander Starscream. When Megatron learnt of Dark Energon, he intended to claim its power and had he along with his Decepticons laid siege to the space station. However, Starscream was successful in destroying much of the samples though some quantities of Dark Energon were infused into Megatron along with his minions. Starscream was quick to pledge his life to the Decepticon cause by highlighting that he knew how to manufacture more Dark Energon and Megatron assigned him to reactivate the Energon Bridge on Cybertron to resume its creation.
