Goldbug (G1)

Goldbug is an Autobot from the Generation 1 continuity.

Autobot Espionage Director Goldbug was rebuilt into his Throttlebot-styled body from the Autobot Bumblebee and retains the personality, programming, and memories of his earlier body. Occasionally he serves as leader of the Throttlebots, but more frequently he serves in his former espionage role, with practically the same responsibilities and a new title. So it goes.

Cheerful and friendly Autobot when off duty; solemn and almost grim when working, Goldbug has shaken off most of his earlier uncertainties and desire for approval. He takes his job with the utmost seriousness, and his new body is even better-equipped for it.

Goldbug is faster than Bumblebee, with greater range, but retains his fuel efficiency, getting 250% more miles from a unit of fuel than the next thriftiest Autobot. Still skilled underwater, he now tolerates temperature extremes from -150 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit. His hearing, too, is sharp, able to detect the impact of a falling pin through a foot of concrete. In strength alone he is still lacking; though stronger than Bumblebee, and a veritable powerhouse among Throttlebots, Goldbug is still among the weakest of the Autobot army.
