Buzzsaw was sent out by Soundwave to find out more about Autobot-related activity at Kingdom Petrochemicals. After ascertaining that humans who were unrelated to NEST were involved and that they were an unknown quantity, Buzzsaw was dispatched with Soundwave's other minions to neutralize this new human threat, leaving one alive for interrogation. The operation was not a success, with Buzzsaw being wounded, and Soundwave was forced to pull out his forces, including Buzzsaw.Nefarious issue 1 Buzzsaw joined Rumble, Dirt Boss, Beastbox and Ratbat in freeing the captured Soundwave from a Bumblebee led Autobot convoy in New Mexico. Buzzsaw battled Knock Out with Ratbat, until Bumblebee, seeing his team being overwhelmed, pulled out and allowed the Decepticons to retreive Soundwave. Nefarious issue 3
