Tailwhip is a Decepticon from the Transformers (2010 toyline) portion of the live-action film series continuity family.

The evil Tailwhip traps his Autobot victims in the crushing vortex generated by his spinning blades. His latest target is Arcee...and if she can get a decent shot off at his rotors, she'll be his last.

Toys

Transformers (2010)

  • Rotorwash Rumble (multi-pack, 2010)
A redeco of Blazemaster, Tailwhip transforms into a white Bell 412 with Hong Kong police markings. The top propeller can be spun using a gear-driven action by pressing the small translucent purple button just under it. The tail rotor cannot move.
In robot mode, the top rotor can be used as a spinning weapon, or split in half to sit on both arms. There are some issues with this, however, as the propeller does not like to sit in the position shown in the instructions (it tends to rotate down) and the second piece does not fit snuggly into its socket, which has one side open to accommodate conversion. There are also a pair of thumbs inside the engine cowling that converts into Tailwhip's arms, despite not having actual hands. Tailwhip was only available in a Target exclusive two-pack with a dark pink version of Arcee.
This mold was also used to make Revenge of the Fallen Evac.

Notes

  • In a case of either a color change after the prototype stage or Photoshop-ery gone wrong, the stock photos of Tailwhip on the back of the "Rotorwash Rumble" packaging depict neon green in place of all the final toy's yellow paint.
  • For some reason, Tailwhip's Decepticon faction insignia sport tiny "™" trademark symbols next to them. As the symbols commonly show up this way on toy packaging, presumably someone grabbed the wrong file during production. The "™" symbols however do not appear in the stock photos of Tailwhip depicted on the back of the box, most probably because the stock photos use a hand-painted prototype.
