The Unicron Battles

The Unicron Battles was the subline imprint for the last portion of the Transformers Armada franchise in late 2003

The last few waves of the Armada toyline had a The Unicron Battles imprint, as did the last 12 episodes of the Armada cartoon, beginning with episode 41, "Depart".

Prelude

The Autobots and the kids left Earth for Cybertron but cane under attack by The Decepticons. Megatron almost destroyed the Autobots but the Mini-con Sparkplug held up the Matrix of Leadership and brought Optimus Prime back to life. The persute of the Decepticons lead the Autobots to a black hole were Hotshot and Red Alert were sucked into it. Megatron, Tidal Wave (Armada)Tidal Wave, Demolisher and Starscream folowed them but all of them came under attack by a Black Optimus Prime. Before Nemesis could destroyed them, The Mini-con's Reformated them. Optimus Prime and Overload then combined and destroyed them. Later Optimus Prime ofered a truce to unite forces against a new enemy hiding in one of Cybertron's Moons called Unicron. Starscream was touched by this but the others saw this as an opportunity to destroy them. When it was time to talk, the Decepticon's did an all out attack against the Autobot's. When Megatron (now Galvatron) battled Otpimus Prime, Starscream showed up and stoped them and battled with him. In the end Starscream begged Galvatron to join sides with the Autobot's and powerlinked with Swindle and fired so much power at Unicron it caused Swindle to disconnect with Starscream. How ever Starscream did not have enough power and was disintegrated by Unicron. This had a very big impact on Galvatron who desided to unite forces with them.

The Battle

First Phase

The Armada of Transformers did an all out attack against Unicron but didnt leave a mark. Hotshot, Side swipe, Demolisher and Cyclonus went to the surface to find hid weak point and were successful but Unicron had finsished transforming and become a gaint robot. Unable to stop him Prime and Galvatron ordered a retreat.

Second Phase

The Autobot's and Decepticon's conter attacked but Unicron was preparing to blow up Cybertron but Galvatron's Hydra cannon ship's sheild blocked it and Galvatron and Optimus snuck into Unicron. on the way Galvatron killed Thrust. They meet Sideways again when they got the the heart, Unicron start's talking through him. Unicron capture's Prime and puts Galvatron into Stasis lock. when the Human's come Unicron tell's them that Mini-con's are creation's of Unicron and put's the Human's in some kind of wierd universe. The Human's wake up the possesed Mini-con's and shut him down. Optimus is also upgrade into his powerlink's color's. and Galvatron wake's up. a very pissed off Sideways try's to road kill Highwire but Prime using the Requiem blaster kills' him.

Third Phase

Prime thinking he's won is told by Galvatron that it's time to battle. everyone refuse's but Galvatron remind's him that Unicron can't die as long as their's hate in the universe. very unhappy about in, he agree's. back in the ship's Sideswipe notice's Unicron's leg moves. Jetfire and Cyclonus go to rescue the kids and they find out about the battle betwen Prime and Galvatron. Before they battle Unicron through's the Matrix into a hole in Unicron. And really trash the place. At the same time Hotshot's team continues to fite Unicron. At he end of Prime's battle they draw but Unicron transform's and they get stuck on Unicron's mouth. Galvatron tell's Prime to let go, he refuses but Galvatron make's him. Both Galvatron and Unicron vanish and Prime is left in Stasis lock flowting in Space

Aftermath

Large numbers of Autobots and Decepticons had either been terminated or wounded as a result of the battle. but the united force's of the Autobot's and Decepticon's had won the battle. Jetfire and Hotshot later took the kids back to earth and said goodbye for the last time. Optimus is seen recovering and flying back to Cybetron. However Unicron is not fully dead as he is seen at the end, Intact. (Unicron would later be mortaly wounded as a result Planet Q blowing up when trying to attack it.)
