Dark Ages

The Dark Ages are an era from the Dreamwave portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Dark Ages started 7.4 million ago with the disappearance of Optimus Prime and Megatron into the Space Bridge at Kaon. Fragmentation Their leaders gone, both factions fell apart. Rather than concerning themselves with the war and the state of the planet, the Autobots and Decepticons organized themselves in various subfactions that had no real power. Their small but ongoing struggles for control, domain and energy eventually developed in what became known as the Border Wars.

A remarkable event during these dark times was the arrival of The Fallen, a Transformer "from before" with immense powers and a mission to push the Cybertronian population from chaos into damnation. The various subfactions agreed to a temporal peace in order to be able to stop him, and succeeded.

The Dark Ages officially ended 6.5 million years ago, Transformers: The Ultimate Guide even though the Border Wars lasted for another 500.000 years.
