Alpha Quintesson and Avalon put their endgame into motion!
Synopsis
On Cybertron, Councillor Avalon launches the Initiator, which will open a portal through space and time to the Quintessa of a parallel universe, where a huge Quintesson invasion fleet waits to attack the Transformers' homeworld. But for this to happen, the mysterious, lost "Conduit" must be moved into position: an act which will, for unknown reasons, require the planetary defense shield protecting Earth to be lowered. To facilitate this, Avalon's co-conspirator Alpha Quintesson has Unicron's Four Horsemen attack the under-staffed Autobot/Alterenergy base on Mars. Automated sentries and robot guards cannot stand against the Horsemen's assault, and with Bulkhead, Quickstrike, Prowl and Checkpoint as the only Autobots on the planet, reinforcements from Earth are solely required.
In Earthspace, Megatron observes the battle from afar in his orbiting satellite base, while down on the planet itself, Jetfire agonizes over the situation. Kicker is still missing following his abduction by Demolishor, and the planetary shield is the only thing preventing the Decepticon from taking the boy off-planet, but the shield must be lowered to send the completed Omega Supreme to join the battle on Mars. With Rad closing in on Kicker's location thanks to information provided by the United Nations via Alexis, Jetfire tells the Autobots on Mars to hold out as long as they can, hoping to give Rad time to stage a rescue. Unfortunately, Prowl soon falls in battle.
Back on Cybertron, Councillor Levitacus becomes aware of Avalon's recent relocation of one of the seismic-shock warheads presently being decommissioned to an isolated spot elsewhere on the planet. Seeking to avoid potentially embarrassing Avalaon (and by extension the entire council), Levitacus goes to question his fellow councillor in person, only to find him preparing to send the warhead through a space bridge of distinctly non-Cybertronian design. As the two elder bots battle, Wheeljack silently watches from the sidelines, reporting on the fight to Megatron. Leviticus struggles, having gone a long time without transforming, and Avalon emerges victorious, at which Wheeljack follows Megatron's instructions...and cuts Avalon down! Before collapsing, however, the wounded Avalaon is able to sent the warhead over the space bridge...
Meanwhile, within Unicron, Optimus Prime changes tactics. After witnessing the devastation of Nervissa and realizing that the attacks on Earth have been a distraction to facilitate some greater gambit, he decides to head for the surface of the chaos-bringer to send a transmission to Cybertron. During his ascent, Prime is shocked to see the seismic-shock warhead materialize in front of him, counting down to detonation!
And on Earth, Demolishor receives a transmission from Alpha Quintesson, telling him to stand by in anticipation of the planetary shield being lowered. When this occurs, Demolishor will be free to transport the Conduit... Kicker himself!

Notes
- This issue was never released. This article's summary is derived from a series of blog posts made by Simon Furman's in late 2010.
- This was the first issue of the Energon comic that did not have any artwork produced for it prior to Dreawamve's dissolution. So we don't even have a cover to brighten this article up!
- The idea of an elderly Transformer who struggles in a fight because they have not transformed for a prolonged period of time is lifted wholesale from Furman's Marvel UK story, "Meltdown!", in which Emirate Xaaron faced just such a challenge.
