Thunderwing is a member of the Clear Skies Team, a trio of fliers who roar into action whenever Decepticon energy-mining threatens the ecology of whatever world they're on.

Fiction

Classics

Like all Mini-Cons, Thunderwing and the Clear Skies Team were created by the Last Autobot and tasked with cleaning up a Cybertron damaged by millions of years of war and an attack from Unicron. The team quickly came to investigate when an Altihex energon refinery suddenly went up in flames, and after explaining the situation to Hacksaw, Thunderwing worked crowd control to keep curious Mini-Cons away from the scene of the disaster. During a subsequent meeting to discuss the causes of the explosion, Thunderwing was eager to do something and suggested they beat the slag out of the main suspect, Broadside. Hacksaw disagreed, as that wouldn't solve anything.

The Clear Skies Team accompanied Hacksaw when he went to investigate a disturbance in the beacon for the returning Autobots, but were ordered to stay six kliks away until called for. Unfortunately, Hacksaw was killed by Broadside before he could call the team, but the murder was caught on film. Thunderwing and his team were later present when Broadside was confronted for his actions. The New World

Notes

  • Though painted in a different pattern, Thunderwing seemingly shares the same blue-and-yellow colors with the U.S. Navy's Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels.
