- Stingers are Cobra vehicles from the Generation 1 continuity family.
The Cobra Stinger is an all-terrain armored vehicle resembling nothing so much as a large off-roading car with a missile launcher stuck to the back.

When Cobra unearthed a number of deactivated Transformers, they reprogrammed them and gave them new vehicle modes. The Autobot twins Sunstreaker and Sideswipe were modified into Stingers, and used these vehicle modes during the attack on the SPS Research Facility. Unfortunately for Cobra, their tough armored vehicles were easily rammed aside by a rally car. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers issue 3 Judging by the missiles on his back, Trailbreaker was also turned into a Stinger, though he was never seen transforming. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers issue 5
