The black beam gun is a weapon from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Black "light"? Riiiight.

When Tracks wants to give the Autobots an edge in the war against the Decepticons, he whips out his black beam gun. This weapon emits a blinding cloud of black gas, blotting out all light and leaving its victims flailing about in the dark. From there, they're easy pickings for Tracks and his buddies.

The Transformers cartoon

"Hey, who turned out the lights?"

Tracks deployed his black beam gun against a ship of time-displaced pirates, temporarily blinding them so that he, Cliffjumper and Seaspray could push the boat back through the time warp it had come through. On that occasion, the beam emitted from his backpack-mounted launchers Dinobot Island, Part 2 but he had the opportunity to use it while in car mode during a battle in Central City. He successfully blinded Dirge, though a short time later he was knocked out of the air by Ramjet. Megatron's Master Plan, Part 1 After Dead End pronounced Tracks's flying mode "droll", Tracks covered his windscreen in blinding blackness. Dead End consequently didn't see Warpath coming, and fell victim to a punch. Masquerade
