On Transformer appearances in other media

I thought I'd pose this question here, as I couldn't think of anywhere better to put it, but I was wondering if a policy exists for usages of Transformers characters (save appearances of toys for another day) in non-Transformers branded media. After all, we have (brief) entries for Marvel characters, Star Wars characters, Animorphs and others who's showed up in the TF multiverse in some way or other. And while it would be tedious to list every "changed the names" satire, if someone expressly uses one of our guys in their non-fanfiction story, is that not noteworthy?

To clarify with examples, I don't think we should feel obligated to include "Prius Maximus" (An Autobot from a Youtube animation I saw a while back, whose face was modeled after Al Gore's and is obsessed with energy conservation a la Marvel's Ratbat), as he isn't quite a fan character but he's definitely not official. On the other hand, named Transformers characters making one-shot apperances in Family Guy have happened a few times now, and while nothing said there is necessarily worth spamming the intro bio with (Even if you take the statements at face value, that's still only one unoffical and apocryphal micro-continuity in which Soundwave(G1) is married to a human woman), I have noticed that Wookieepedia and Memory Alpha often do take into account apocryphal, satirical or alternate media apperances with their properties of interest. As a wise man often wrote, can we do less? Banpei the Mini-Con 12:21, 24 January 2011 (EST)

Yes, we do have a policy on this, and the policy is that we don't do it. We only deal in official stuff, and including unofficial depictions of the characters opens the floodgates for incorporating ALL unofficial uses of the Transformers likenesses. - Chris McFeely 12:32, 24 January 2011 (EST)
