- Searchlight is an Autobot from the Animated continuity family.
Searchlight wages a one-'bot war on crime on Cybertron, clinging to the shadows, working to root out muggers, lowlifes and dissidents under cover of darkness. He hates projectile weaponry more than even normal Autobots do, instead fighting villainy with his unmatched hand-to-hand combat abilities and the amazing detective abilities his incomparable scanner array provides him. The more rational-minded among the Autobots believe his accomplishments must be the work of a large independent militia group, but as Searchlight well knows, criminals are superstitious, cowardly 'bots, and his deeds have caused tales of "spirits" and "monsters" to sweep through the Cybertronian underground.
