Benny

Benny is a zombie from the IDW continuity portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

In an universe with no known Transformers, Benny the Smith is the zombie head of occult science research for Covert Vampire Operations. He was originally human till turned during a previous mission. Thanks to the magical technology known as Artillica, Benny was able to retain his own mind.

In response to a zombie outbreak at a complex in New Mexico, the CVO team, including Benny, was sent to contain the situation. However, despite Benny's Artillica, the zombie Undermind was able to overwhelm and take control of the zombie. The CVO team shook him out of it, but not before the other zombies took Benny's Artillica, along with his arm. In safety, Benny revealed that the zombies were under the control of a hive intelligence, which soon took over again. Benny, out of control, bit Britt, infecting her and transforming her into a zombie/vampire hybrid. Benny, lost to the zombies, led them to CVO headquarters, where he accessed the Artillica stockpiles, so they could be used to travel to other universes, spreading the infection. To this end, Benny kidnapped Britt, transforming her into a living conduit to open other universes with. Thanks to a sci-bot, the portal technology malfunctioned, freeing Benny, but leaving Britt comatose as her soul was split among universes. To cure Britt of her condition, Benny set up a protocol to search the universes the zombies travelled to for Britt's aspects. Infestation #1
