Megatron reveals his ultimate plan to take on the Alternity!
Synopsis
Now joined by countless other iterations of himself, Optimus Prime fights to protect the Earth from the Beast of Time, Hytherion. Neither he nor his other selves are aware of the lurking form of Megatron's battleship waiting nearby in transwarp space. Watching the Alternity battle the creature, the Decepticon warlord reflects on the course of events that had brought him to this point.
A native of the same universe that birthed the Alternity, Megatron had fallen into stasis lock during the conflicts which led to the Timaeus Project. As a result, he was in a disabled state during the discovery of Alternium, and when he was eventually revived, the Decepticons were far behind the technological curve, dwarfed by the hyper-dimensional beings many of the Autobots had now become. Galled by the prospect of domination by the Autobots, Megatron retreated and set out on a journey which spanned several universes, researching the Alternity and meeting with alternate versions of himself who shared his ambitions. Eventually he learned of Hytherion, and his plan took shape.
Bringing his scheme to fruition, Megatron activates the chaotizer device within his battleship, which overwrites the higher functions of Hytherion with his own, enslaving the beast. To the forces of the Alternity planetside, it at first appears that the Origin Eater has been killed, but soon two cars nearby lurch to life and transform to robotic forms. Megatron reveals that luring Hytherion to Earth has all been a ruse to gain power equal to that of his hated enemies. He issues his challenge to the Alternity, stating that he will see the galaxy burn, in infinite variation, forever...

Notes
- The Megatron featured in this story is the Megatron native to the Binaltech universe, who was last seen in the 2007 story chapter, "Kill Switch". In that story, he was sent offline when Mirage pulled the Quintesson killswitch; the events following his reawakening some time later are covered in a flashback in this Alternity chapter.
- "To Mega Therion" and "Master Therion" are titles assumed by Aleister Crowley, according to Wikipedia's Therion disambiguation page. However, Crowley's own entry does not list these titles. "Therion" is Greek for "beast" while "mega" is "great", referencing to the Book of Revelations. Megatron's Timaeus Drive refers to one of the characters in Plato's dialogue Timaeus, on the nature of reality.
