Talk:Override Prime
From MediaWiki
"And all it took was for the title to be devaluated!"
I'm concerned that the sentence "And all it took was for the title to be devaluated!" comes across as sexist. I.e., it suggests that giving the title "Prime" to a female character devalued it. I realize that's not what was intended, but I worry it will be intepreted that way. Opinions? JW 10:36, 7 March 2011 (EST)
- I don't like it either. Yes, in Animated "Prime" means something slightly different, but the comment just comes off as rude and unnecessary. --NCZ 10:46, 7 March 2011 (EST)
- I think it is supposed to be aimed more at the creators than Override herself. Of course, being mad at the creators for emphasizing male characters in a boys toy line is kind of silly. --Khajidha 10:50, 7 March 2011 (EST)
- Argh, that would be a horrible caption. Is it gone now? Is it gone? --ItsWalky 10:51, 7 March 2011 (EST)
- I think it's pretty clear that the caption-writer meant that we can't have female Primes unless Primes aren't as important. Personally, I'm more offended by the use of "devaluated". -LV 11:03, 7 March 2011 (EST)
- This is a horrible statement and it needs to be blown up and destroyed. --Peter Damian 11:04, 7 March 2011 (EST)
- I am reading it better now. Apparently it's easy to misread as super horrible when you've been up for 48 hours. --ItsWalky 11:22, 7 March 2011 (EST)
- Even so, it comes across as sexist. That is in no way a good thing. The statement should be removed. --Peter Damian 11:29, 7 March 2011 (EST)
- It's actually pretty obnoxiously feminist, in a sarcastic kind of way.

And congratulations to "Alientraveller" for doing the right thing and nuking it. --Peter Damian 11:35, 7 March 2011 (EST)
